Juventus have confirmed that they are not interested in signing AC Milan striker Marco Borriello and that the club are not expecting any more new signings before the close of the transfer window today.
The Old Lady were heavily linked with a move for the unwanted Milan player in recent days but Juventus technical director Giuseppe Marotta made it clear that the club are not looking into signing him.
“Marco Borriello? No. Our transfer market finishes here,” Marotta said.
Milan are hoping to offload Borriello to make way for Manchester City star Robinho. Reports have previously stated that the Brazilian’s move to Italy depended heavily on the Rossoneri getting rid of Borriello but with Robinho currently having his medical in Milan, it is likely that the club will be going ahead with the acquisition of the South American regardless whether they manage to ship the Italian international out.
Roma are also understood to be keen on signing Borriello and the player himself has stated that he is likely to join last season’s runners-up in Serie A.
“Roma are the favourites to sign me. I am waiting for the okay from Unicredit,” Borriello said.
Meanwhile, the proposed swap deal between Kakhaber Kaladze and Fabio Grosso has fallen through. Juventus had supposedly set their sights on Milan’s Georgian international, but Kaladze will stay at Milan.
