Juventus will hope to start life anew under new manager Luigi Delneri as they open their Serie A campaign with a trip to Bari. It will be a decidedly difficult trip with Bari being notoriously tough opponents to play against but Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo believes that the Old Lady of Turin can go on to sweep all the major trophies this season.
The Brazilian international endured a tough first season with the Bianconeri in the last campaign and was made the scapegoat for his country’s early exit from the World Cup finals in South Africa during the summer. Yet Melo is preferring to stay positive and is confident that his team mates will enjoy a much better season this time round.
The Brazilian enforcer has told the team that they have to put everything behind them and look forward with the players so far responding well to Delneri who joined from Sampdoria. Juventus have so far won all their Europa League games and hope to carry that positive form into Serie A.
“Come on guys, we will win everything,” Melo said. “I want to see everyone at the Olimpico. Turin is a great city, forza Juve.”
Melo was one of the player’s tipped to leave at the start of the transfer window. But after a positive pre-season, coach Luigi Del Neri has become bowled over.
