Milton Keynes Dons will play Charlton Athletic in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern section second round game at the stadium:mk on Tuesday with Dons boss Karl Robinson having to make some adjustments in defence. The home side will miss defender Gary MacKenzie after the centre half picked up a groin injury on Saturday and will not be involved for some time.
Robinson could either stick with Adam Chicksen who replaced MacKenzie against Colchester or turn to the experience of Sean O’Hanlon should he be fit after recovering from a recent injury.
Angelo Balanta – who scored the Dons’ equaliser on Saturday – is also in line for a start after coming on as a substitute in the same game having just returned from a hamstring problem previously. Striker Sam Baldock will remain on the sidelines still nursing an ankle injury as will midfielder Stephen Gleeson with a back problem.
The Addicks will be without Matt Fry with the defender needing a late fitness test to assess his availability, having limped out of Saturday’s game with a problem.
Johnnie Jackson started on the wing at Griffin Park but reverted to left-back when Fry was forced off and could stay in defence with Kyel Reid starting in front of him. Veteran defender Christian Dailly was an unused substitute after a month out recovering from a fractured eye socket and he could feature.
Striker Joe Anyinsah remains doubtful with the back injury which has sidelined him for two games, while Alan McCormack (calf), Chris Solly (ankle) and Kelly Youga (knee) are still missing.
