Leeds United look to build on Saturday’s win over Millwall with the visit of Leicester City in the Carling Cup second round clash on Tuesday and manager Simon Grayson will be considering making a few changes to the team with his hand forced by injuries.
One player who will be included in the squad will be striker Max Gradel who returns from a four game suspension. Grayson is undecided so far whether to start the player as he looks to build winning momentum in the side.
“As it stands, we’re still considering our options for Tueday and what we’re going to do,” Grayson told the club’s official website. “We have a few tired bodies and a few niggles so one or two players are a doubt for the game.
“I didn’t envisage making too many changes – I only made one in the last round because players need games at this stage of the season – so we will see where we are nearer kick-off. Some clubs made a lot of changes in the last round of the competition and are out of it now. I want to win games because winning breeds confidence and particularly with us having a break after Saturday’s game at Watford you will see the strongest side I can put out.”
Grayson is confident that Gradel will be in fine form for the side when he makes his return to the team.
“Max has been like Davide,” Grayson added. “He’s itching to play. They both served their bans, and both were gutted not to play in the first few games.
“They’ve both worked very hard, they’ve done their running, and they’ve played at places like Gainsborough and Bradford Park Avenue to get their match fitness up. Dave has reaped the rewards and hopefully Max will too when he comes back into the team. He certainly showed what he was all about against Wolves in pre-season and would have started the season on the back of that.”
