Bursaspor manager Ertugrul Saglam does not believe that Manchester United will suffer for long should Wayne Rooney leave the club eventually.
The Turkish champions head coach is convinced that the Premier League giants have the strength in depth to cope with the loss of their star striker and stressed that player departures are part and parcel of a club’s existence.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced on Tuesday that Rooney is adamant in wanting to leave the club and the striker managed to sidestep a potential fans backlash after suffering a training ground injury to be ruled out for the Manchester United vs Bursaspor Champions League match.
“These problems occur from time to time with players,” Saglam said. “We have experienced something similar ourselves in the last couple of weeks, so I know what it is like to have player problems.
“But Manchester United have the depth of quality in their squad to know that whoever they put in to replace Rooney is likely to be of a very high standard. I certainly don’t think it is going to be an advantage for us, or a disadvantage for them.”
